Who provides the app?
Eclipse Radar is provided by RoibyRoy, a trade name of Roy Steijger, based in the Netherlands.

Location information
Eclipse Radar can use approximate or precise device location when you choose Use location. Location is used to calculate which eclipses are visible, determine the correct local time zone and show local eclipse circumstances.
Location permission is optional. You can instead enter a city, town or latitude and longitude. The selected place, coordinates and time zone are stored in the app's private local storage and are not sent to servers operated by RoibyRoy.
City searches use Android's system geocoding service. Depending on the device and provider, search text may be processed by that provider under its own privacy policy. Eclipse Radar receives the result but does not send it to RoibyRoy servers.
Eclipse reminders
When you save a reminder, Eclipse Radar stores the event identifier, local eclipse time and time zone on the device. Android notifications are scheduled before that eclipse. You can remove reminders inside the app or disable notifications in Android Settings.
Device restart
Eclipse Radar receives Android's boot-completed signal only to restore reminders you previously enabled after the device restarts.
Storage and deletion
Preferences, selected location and reminders are stored locally. Depending on Android backup settings, the platform may include app preferences in an encrypted device backup managed by the platform provider.
Delete local data by removing saved reminders, clearing app storage in Android Settings or uninstalling Eclipse Radar. There is no Eclipse Radar account or server-side account data.
Internet, analytics and advertising
Eclipse Radar does not request Android's Internet permission. It contains no advertising, analytics or third-party tracking SDK. Eclipse calculations, maps and the event catalogue are bundled with or calculated inside the app.
Children
Eclipse Radar is a general-audience astronomy utility and is not specifically directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Local information is protected by Android's application sandbox. Eclipse Radar minimizes risk by keeping its core data handling on the device. No digital system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available on this page with an updated effective date.
